Monastero Suore Cistercensi Coenobium Lazio Bianco 2015

Winemaker's Notes:

WHWC Staff Notes: Technically, it's an orange wine, but it doesn't drink like an orange wine. Yes, there is a slight grip that results from the maceration time on the skins, but it's as fine as any I've found in a wine of this style. The aromas are mineral and smoky with sublte hints of pear compote and iodine. The palate is decidedly salty with additional flavors of toasted hazelnut, apricot skin, and beeswax, but a bright, lifted structure proves exceptionally refreshing for a wine with such an esoteric profile. -Matt Bayless, 7/15/17
