Monte Rossa Franciacorta Cabochon Brut 2011

Editorial Review by Snooth Editorial:

Toasted marshmallow and oak notes on the nose with pie crust and warm biscuit aromas with hints of baked apple. Smooth and creamy texture on entry with a lively mid palate of lemon zest, sharp acidity and honey butter, this is full of fruit flavors of apple and pear, grapefruit pith and a touch of smoke that lingers on an earthy tingling sourdough and briar patch finish. 90 pts

Wine Tasting NotesFranciacorta Cabochon Brut is the most prestigious and celebrated of the Monte Rossa wines. It has been awarded the most exclusive of awards offered to Italian wines, the "Tre Bicchieri" (Three Glasses) award by Gambero Rosso. The color is a wonderful yellow with gold reflections that gives it a regal appeal. Soft, full and very persistent, the resulting taste is complex with hints of tobacco and spices.
