Red Hill Estate is a boutique Australian multi-award winning wine producer situated on a stunning property little more than an hour from Melbourne in an internationally recognized cool climate region on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. Established in 1989, Red Hill Estate boasts one of the best views from any winery in the world and is therefore a much desired tourist destination, renowned for its superb panoramic views of Western Port Bay and its mild maritime climate. This cool climate is perfect for growing Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and a variety of other grapes that are used to produce still and sparkling table wines of the highest quality. The consistent quality of the Red Hill Estate premium wines has been recognised with its performance in the show arena. Red Hill Estate has scored over 260 medals, including trophies for the Classic Release Chardonnay, Classic Release Pinot Noir, Red Hill Estate Chardonnay, Red Hill Estate Shiraz, Red Hill Estate Blanc de Noirs and Red Hill Estate Blanc de Blanc just to name a few. The Cellar Door and Max’s Restaurant feature one of the most magnificent vistas imaginable, with the panoramic sweep including rolling hills, trees, Western Port Bay and Phillip Island in the background. Ian Sutton, former President of the Australian Winemakers Federation, once described it as the ‘best view of any vineyard in the world’. Quite simply, the view must be seen to be believed. Whilst indulging in this feast for the eyes, you can also enjoy internationally inspired cuisine prepared by the highly talented Max Paganoni. Each dish has been carefully matched with a Red Hill Estate wine by winemaker Luke Curry. Max’s at Red Hill Estate won not only the Best Regional Restaurant at the 2002 American Express Restaurant Awards but also Best Victorian Restaurant – an extraordinary achievement. In 2006 Red Hill Estate merged with the historic Hunter Valley producer Arrowfield Estate, and together they trade under the name of “The InWine Group Australia”. The new company will produce a full range of wines, from high-quality premium labels to volume-driven products using contract growers where appropriate. Brenton Martin, CEO says “There are great synergies between the two wineries which will allow us to make better wines more efficiently, making us more competitive at all price points”. Read less
