Santa Margherita Prosecco di Valdobbiadene 2007

Editorial Reviews for Santa Margherita Prosecco di Valdobbiadene
Smells slightly herbal, yeasty and grassy on the nose, with notes of dried lime zest and small, dusty baked apple fruits. A bit sweet but fairly bright in the mouth, with the sugar adding flavors more than weight. The fruit shows a touch of peach in addition to some spice and apple notes. Very creamy and soft in the mouth, with lovely freshness of fruit on the finish. The sugar pokes out a bit on the finish but is balanced by acids and a touch of mineral bitterness. 87pts

Add your reviewThe color of subtle yellow tinted glass, this Prosecco has good mousse with a soft, near-neutral flavor upon entry. This is followed by subtle flecks of cotton candy and grape phosphate with just enough astringency to clarify those confection-like overtones. It is quite dry for the typical fare one sees in St. Mark's Square in mid-summer but good value and quality notwithstanding.
Refreshing and crispy, good acidity and toast with medium bubbles and a creamy finish.
This prosecco has been given good reviews, and rightfully so. Bubbly being underrated, I jumped at the opportunity to drink it. I think a special occasion like a Wednesday night is perfect for a prosecco. As soon as I popped the cork, I could smell the typical fruits and pears expected from a brut. The front palate was light, with flavors of spring greens and fruits. The mid-palate had hints of mandarin oranges, which matured into green apples. The most pleasing part of this wine was the finish - it had nice minerality with a bit of crisp slate. At $14,99, it was definitely a great buy.

Sparkling wine with a clean nose, pleasantly fruity, with whiffs of rennet apples and peach blossoms. Delicate, balanced taste.

Hereandrsquo;s a Prosecco with a surprisingly rich, toasted quality that translates into roasted almond, walnut and yellow fruit flavors. The toasted notes add unexpected complexity to a dry, crisp apandeacute;ritif wine.

The texture of this wine deftly balances the richness of ripe stone fruit with the grip of fruit skins, like apple and apricot. A hint of white pepper adds subtle complexity, while the finish feels fresh and elegant. Try it with toasted almonds. Wine & Spirits. A Proprietary Blend wine from Veneto in Italy. N.V.
