A bit of raspberry on the nose and it didn't have the common over powering yeasty component that most sparkling wines have for me, and had a distinct watermelon flavor. It would be wonderfully refreshing on a hot afternoon.

I have not had a chance to try very many sparkling wines so I have very little to compare this too. I felt this wine was extremely dry but crisp. The dryness overwhelms the palate and hinders the expression of other flavors. Decent for one of my first sparkling wines but I feel there are better ones out there...

Nice dryness but a somewhat muted flavor profile. Not bad, but I would probably look elsewhere if I was purchasing a sparkling wine in this price range.

Fresh lemon aromas, with a touch of biscuit around the edges. Nice bead for a Cava, not to big. Refreshing palate of toast, lemon, and apple. Very nice by the glass sipper.

From Fine Cooking: "Tastes like crisp apple and citrus fruit wiht zesty acidity. Pair with oysters or other shellfish."

Creamy, with bread dough and toasted almond notes mixing with more subtle flavors of star fruit, green melon and thyme. Drink now.

Apple, petrol and mineral define the nose. The lime and apple on the tongue are standard and crisp. Medium weight on the palate, with some sweetness.

A classic cava from top to bottom. The nose offers familiar baked apple, mineral and saline aromas, while the palate is exceedingly fresh in its delivery of pineapple, apple and nectarine flavors. A fruity yet crisp number that foams up nicely on the palate but doesn’t lose it’s focus or form.

Crushed vitamins and frothy notes work the nose, while the palate is fairly fresh and clean, with apple as the lead flavor. The body is solid if standard, as is the depth of fruit and overall quality. By now Aria brut is a known entity; always a safe bet.

Segura Viudas is one of the top names in Cava, the classic Spanish sparkling wines, and its Aria cuvée is crisp, citrusy and refreshing - ideal as an aperitif, and for holiday toasts.

Slightly heavy and wheaty on the nose, but not yeasty or complex. The palate is big, chunky and ripe, with sweet mango and apple flavors. Gets a touch flabby on the finish but stays upright and correct.

Segura Viudas keeps turning out exceptional sparkling wines, at very reasonable prices. Forget the bare-bones Cavas, the austere fruit, the slight rubbery quality you try to ignore because you only paid $5 for the bottle. Think instead of creamy, effervescent fruit, full, mouth-filling flavors and rich, distinctive yeastiness. Think of layered flavors, a little complexity and sophistication. So youandrsquo;re spending $10 instead of $5. The wine is more than twice as good.
