Tamarack Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley 2011

Member Review by rckr1951:

Big wine, bold fruit with spice, mocha, tannins that flush up to a dark cherry finish that is lengthy and satisfying.

A fabulous success in the vintage, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon is an age worthy effort that gives up classic currant and plum styled fruits, licorice, earth and lead pencil shavings to go with a full-bodied, beautifully concentrated and layered profile on the palate. Opening up a time in the glass and showing impressive mid-palate depth and fine tannin on the finish, it can be consumed anytime over the coming 10 to 12 years.

Tasted from multiple barrels and a step up in terms of concentration and structure, the inky colored 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon has knockout aromas of black currant, graphite, violet and charcoal to go with a medium to full-bodied, layered and beautifully textured mouthfeel. Possessing juicy acidity and ripe tannin, it will be approachable on release and have 8-10 years of ultimate longevity. Drink 2014-2021. - Robert Parker 90-93 Points Full bodied with ripe scents of black currant and violets, rich aromas of caramel intertwined with lively acidity and bright fruit, dark chocolate and velvety tannins stretched out over a lengthy finish . Of all the Tamarack reds, this shows the most length, complexity and balance. - Winery

This red is open-textured and inviting, with fine tannins blanketing the expressive currant, pomegranate and rose petal flavors, lingering easily on the finish. Best from 2016 through 2020.
