Taylor Fladgate Late Bottled Vintage Porto 2004

Member Review by chriscage:

This wine pours a deep ruby color with rusty tinges around the rim....it has nice clarity and excellent legs! The aromas are of deep blackberry, cherry, hints of licorice and leather belt, and the finish has an ounce of booziness and it does linger....fresh! The flavors are more subtle and simple with fresh boysenberry, dark cherry, blackberry....almost blueberry quality.....pepper and cinnamon spice along with pickled black currant compote. The mouthfeel is smooth in general with slight alcohol burn on the palate, and with milk chocolate and Guyere cheese, this is an excellent sociable wine! Not the best year out there but a shame that it is waning in availability.
