Turley Mead Ranch Atlas Peak Zinfandel 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Advocate Review
Rated 89-91
The 2011 Zinfandel Mead Ranch needs time in the glass to come together. Still a bit disjointed and raw, the Mead Ranch possesses good inner sweetness and definition in its exotic aromas and flavors. This is a pretty effort, even if at times the wine appears to be a bit fragile. With time in the glass the Mead Ranch continued to improve, which makes me hopeful for the future. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018.

The winery is a family operation helmed brother and sister duo Larry and Helen Turley, founded in 1993. Their prestigious wines are in constantly high demand, and their private wine club has a two-year waiting list. The wines are produced from several vineyards, with vines dating back to the 1800s. Each terroir lends its own character to the wines, and they are given separate labels according to location each vintage. The vineyards are located in Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Lodi, Howell Mountain and Contra Costa. Read less
