Val di Suga Brunello di Montalcino 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

"Val di Suga is a winery with a proven track record for consistency. The 2011 Brunello di Montalcino opens to generous aromas of dried cherry, wild berry, black currant, leather, cola and balsamic herb. The mouthfeel in this vintage is slightly thinner compared to past editions. Neither does it last as long in terms of persistence. But the fullness and overt intensity of the bouquet does a good job of compensating for this. I would suggest drinking this wine within the next ten years."- _Wine Advocate_ *(90 points)*

Val di Suga translates to "Valley of the Sauce". With the vineyards sloped facing the sun, these grapes bake all day long giving the wine a wonderful core of red and black fruits hidden hidden under pepper and earthy terroir; the refined tannins and bright acidity confirms why Sangiovese and tomato sauce go so well with each other.
