Woop Woop Cab 750m 2008

External Reviews for Woop Woop Cab 750m

Ruby-red. Smoky red- and blackcurrant aromas, with cigar box and pungent herbal qualities adding complexity; this really smells like cabernet. Juicy red and dark berry flavors are given grip by chewy tannins and lift by tangy minerality. Becomes sweeter and denser with air, picking up jammy blueberry and dark chocolate on the finish. Offers admirable complexity for the price.

The 2006 Cabernet has an expressive bouquet of plum and black currant. With plenty of body, layered sweet fruit, and soft tannins, this is as good as entry-level Cabernet as you are likely to find. Although it will improve with another 1ndash;2 years in bottle, few people are gong to delay their gratification.

On the tongue, this is a fairly big, well-extracted, fleshy Cabernet with firm tannins. The fruit flavors are ripe and pure, and are joined by a seasoning of cedary oak spice in the generous, dry finish.

The 2008 Cabernet offers up aromas of spice box and cassis leading to an easy-going, fruity wine with plenty of up-front flavor. The Woop Woop brand, developed by importer Ben Hammerschlag with the wines made by the talented Ben Riggs, continues to offer solid value.

Saturated red. Sexy aromas of raspberry and cherry preserves, with lively Asian spice and floral qualities adding complexity. The floral note gains strength with air and carries onto the palate, which features sweet red berry flavors, strong mineral snap and silky texture. Sweet, energetic and focused on the impressively clean and long finish. This wine, which represents great bang for the buck, was raised almost completely in stainless steel, with only 10% of the juice seeing (new) French and American oak.
