Zaccagnini Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Tralcetto 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

Harvest by hand, following ripening curves. Fermentation occurs with gentle grape pressing, cold skin contact and vacuum pressing is used along with a low-temperature maceration. The entire fermentation process is carefully managed so the wine can preserve all of its delicate and complex aromas. Aged in steel. Medium to light-flavored food, especially light hors d'oeuvres, bronzino or other white fish and white meat based dishes.

When the market for those grapes died out, he decided to produce wine himself, with his cousin Concezio as the winemaker, eventually building a successful family business. The value-driven wines are produced with a signature grapevine twig wrap, which has been a key point in its successful brand recognition among consumers. The wines are produced as still reds, whites and that regional Abruzzo rosé specialty, Cerasuolo.  Read less

Intense ruby red color with violet nuances; intense, characteristic bouquet of the primary grape aromas; fruity component, full-bodied and robust, well-balanced with tannin and oak features. 100% Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
