Château de Fieuzal is a Bordeaux wine from the Pessac-Léognan appellation, ranked among the Premiers Crus for red wine in the Classification of Graves wine of 1953 and 1959, though the estate also produces a dry white wine which was not classified.[1] The winery and vineyards are located south of the city of Bordeaux, in the commune of Léognan. The vineyard area consists of 48 hectares, 39 hectares of red vines consisting of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon with 33% Merlot, 4.5% Cabernet Franc and 2.5% Petit Verdot, and 9 hectares of white with equal amounts of Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Of the Grand vin Château de Fieuzal and the second wine L'Abeille de Fieuzal there is typically a total annual production of 13,000 cases of red wine and 4,000 of dry white. – Description from mriskic

  • I am currently seeking out some of the better Western Cape wines of S. Africa... for that something different.  However, tonight, after inspecting a new propoerty I purchased on Vancouver Island, I was just to thirsty to look far afield and lighted on this very underrrated wine: Chateau de France 2015.  See review, if interested, on this site.  ... • Chateau de France Rouge 2015

Near Chateau Fieuzal - a Grand Cru Classe - this very fine, only slightly lesser wine is a marvelous bargain: a dark, almost black cherry in colour, the 2015 de France effuses brambleberry, vanilla and cypress bark on the nose. Entry has a slight tannic (oak) pucker, but softening, with great lift to the blackberry fruit on the front of the pala... Read More
