At Church & State, we use grapes we grow on 121 acres of the finest grape-producing regions in British Columbia. We produce 14,000 cases of ultra premium and premium VQA white and red wines in the following varieties and vintages: Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Viognier, Chardonnay, Cabernet Blanc, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and our full five varietal Bordeaux blend, "Quintessential". Bill Dyer, our Master Winemaker and a driving force in Napa Valley wineries for 27 years, guides our wine-making operations. We age our wines in fine French oak barrels and use modern cellar tools and methods to produce high quality white and red wines. With our main production facility moving to Oliver, the Victoria location will become our secondary wine-making area. The Okanagan winery is located in the heart of the Oliver region, with our soon to be built tasting bar amongst the vineyards on Coyote Bowl. Our Victoria winery is located on the scenic Saanich Peninsula just a short drive Read more »

  • I know there is a big fear that Pence is even worse, in terms of separation of church and state.  However, I think they will find he too is implicated in the Russian scandal and he will go down with the sinking ship.  I bet we'll end up with Paul Ryan if the Trump administration fails.  Of course, he's a loser too.  :-( Read More

  • Kathy,I'll give you my Reader's Digest version.  After being excommunicated from the Mormon Church at the ripe age of 20, I was living in California with my partner in sin-soon to be wife.  I was from British Columbia, which then (1989) was not producing much decent wine.  So I started having a glass of wine periodically with dinner at restauran... • Hello all,I'm not actually a beginner in wine preparation. I started preparing wine 3 months ago. I've tasted different varieties of wine and my favorite is Merlot wine. I had a doubt earlier on how to store the prepared wine. I searched many sources and asked many friends and  I happened to read an article yesterday which had tips to properly s... Read More

  • DM,I don't think BC really has something akin to a 'cult' wine or winery yet.  There are some very collected wines though.  There are several wines that are $100-$130, but honestly, I don't think they're worth that.  They're good, but that's a LOT of dough and I could buy some killer Barolo, Brunello, Amarone, you name it.  Leonetti (almost).  F... • Last night my buddy Chester brought a German Pinot that a friend of his brought over from there.  It was quite good and I'm not a pinot fan.  Massive 14.5% alcohol though....weird.  Followed by a Painted Rock Syrah, which had a gorgeous nose, but I was disappointed that the rest was fleeting.  Some pepper on the finish, but seemed to disappear t...
