Marietta Cellars is located just outside the little town of Geyserville in one of California’s premier wine growing regions, Sonoma County. Owner and winemaker Chris Bilbro initially founded Marietta Cellars in 1978 in a rented cow barn in the Dry Creek Valley. The wines of Marietta Cellars are a personification of Chris Bilbro, his outlook on life, and general lifestyle. No wine is complete on its own; pleasurable pursuits such as cooking, fishing, hunting, gardening, and entertaining add balance to wine, as they do to life. To this day, no wine gets bottled without Chris’s approval and no vineyard row goes more than a week without Chris riding his ATV through it.

  • Marietta Cellars Angeli Estate Grown Zinfandel 2016

Big fruity wine. Blackberry, plum are the first impression. Then some piquancy. A "thick" mouthfeel. A tobacco sensation under the rear palate--something that I might expect in a CS but not a Zin. Actually, a darned good wine. I think I'll go back and buy some more. Read More

  • Marietta Cellars Angeli Estate Grown Zinfandel 2015

Very attractive dark color. Fruity nose with a touch of alcohol. Lots of berry fruit on the tip of the tongue. I find this to be a nice medium-for-a-red bodied wine. While it is not a blockbuster, it is not shy. Moderate tannins and acid. I found some notes on the '13 vintage of this wine in which I was not particularly impressed. I am mo... Read More

  • Marietta Cellars Angeli Cuvee 2013

Easy wine to drink--just not terribly sophisticated. Candied red fruit on entry. Then some tarry notes. Not particularly tannic or full-bodied. The saving grace is that there is sufficient tartness to keep this from being declared a fruit bomb. Read More

  • Sometimes we get used to paying upwards of $100 for a nice bottle of wine from the wine shop.  Those are the 'good days' that we want to remember, but soon you notice your bank account is dropping faster than Trumps approval rating, so you start looking for more value-oriented wines that are tasty in their own right. This topic is all about value... • Marietta Cellars Petite Sirah California 2009

Big rip fruit yet elegant and refined at the same time. This isn't the typical Petite Sirah where it's full bore right out of the gate. It's polished and reserved while still offering reasonable amounts of big fruit. The tannins are there but are very well integrated into the wine. Black and blue fruits with balanced oak provide wonderful balanc... Read More

  • The description on this has a location of California, but the address is a different winery in Marietta, Ohio. The phone number is also not correct for the California winery. Someone should check into making the necessary changes to correct. Thank you!
