Fox, the Schram Mirabelle is up there with the worst wines I've tasted! Would not buy another but would sip again if poured just to confirm if it was a bad bottle or not.It is a good time to plan these things out, and sounds like you had a great experience. People coming up to you years later is definitely a feather in your cap, hoping for a sim... Read More

Had a fun tasting matchup, another in the series of helping a young couple pick out their wedding wines. Schramsberg was my first thought, but I think they may have balked at the price (our local has a great deal @ $27), so we went ahead and set up a tasting along with a Roederer Estate, which sells closer to the $20 level.Started out with the R... I have had another South African wine, and it was a Pinotage from Neil ... Read More

Smooth, very brief finish--a touch of bitterness, but that is gone in a millisecond. An easy wine... Read More

This is green fruited and lightly sweet smelling with a lovely, sweetly vegetal, cut grass undercurrent on the nose. A touch of CO2 helps add brightness on the palate and a little prickle on the tongue. This opens rather broadly on the palate with nice tension, but the fruit is a touch matte. Citrus fruits and cut grass notes on the long, bright... Read More
