The winery's 40 acres of premium vineyards are located in Fair Play Appellation. Decomposed granite soils and a balanced microclimate at a 2,500 foot average elevation allow us to produce premium grapes with the distinct flavor of the foothills. Our Fair Play Farms vineyard, planted in 1999, is one of the best in the entire Sierra Foothills. The grape growing sites in this vineyard were chosen to bring out the best quality in each varietal and all of the vines are pruned by hand. The first crops were dropped to increase vigor in the plant and to promote better fruit. All rootstocks and clones were matched to the unique soil situations in every block, creating the most distinction in the produced wines.
