  • Pieropan Soave Classico 2016

    Snoothrank:

Restrained, austere notes of toast, lemon tart and almond on the nose. Intriguing toasty brioche notes on the palate with a tart palate of crisp lemon, grapefruit and dried apricot with a drying oaky nuttiness and spice on the finish. Read More

  • Pieropan Soave Classico 2014

    Snoothrank:

Juicy aromas of pineapple and lemon with a bit of heat and spice. Medium-light bodied in the mouth, this is fairly simple but refreshing with notes of lemon and light melon, a hint of herb and a medium-short finish. This wine would pair excellently with a variety of delicate foods because it is unassuming and approachable while still having enou... Read More

  • Church & State Wines Sauvignon Blanc 2013

    Snoothrank:

This wine has a nose of gooseberry and lemon - not unlike some Entre-Deux-Mers ... of a high-end Soave (from Pieropan, say) on the palate with similar lemon-oil flavours. Still, a very pleasant draught and cleanly made - if a bit eccentric. 87 point Read More

  • I have tried very old vintages at the winery of the Cru Soave they do Calvarino and Rocca 1982 was the oldest and they can age very well, they still have life and evolve so well. Old Calvarino reminds me of a Semmilion from Hunter Valley.
